As a cross asset class phenomenon, investors have expressed a desire for consistency, comparability and an industry specific focus on financial materiality. Speakers
Jeff Cohen is an Institutional Product Strategist at the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB). In his role, Jeff educates and partners with institutional investors and asset owners, facilitating dialogue on financially material industry specific ESG topics and metrics for implementation into investment decisions across asset classes. Prior to joining SASB, Jeff was Head of Business Development at Sonen Capital, an ESG & Impact dedicated OCIO. Prior to Sonen, Jeff was a Director of Investment Opportunities at Venovate. Jeff has spent his career working with investors at organizations such as Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, and Gerson Lehrman Group. He holds an MBA from Georgetown University and a BBA from the University of Michigan. Jeff is a CAIA charter holder and Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting Credential holder.
Vishal is a leading expert in the field of sustainability, with over 20 years of experience in the global technology and clean energy sectors. Prior to joining Hudson, Vishal was a Managing Director and Head of Global Clean Tech and Sustainable Investing sectors at Deutsche Bank. Prior to this, Vishal was the Head of Global Clean Research Energy Groups at both Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers and worked at Morgan Stanley. Vishal has been a trusted advisor to several start-ups in the Cleantech sector and has significant experience in dealing with operational, financial and strategic issues of small/mid-size companies. Throughout his Wall Street career, Vishal has been involved in more than 30 IPOs including Solaredge, Terraform, Enphase, SunPower, JA Solar, Trina and Canadian Solar.
Elizabeth Seeger oversees the consideration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues throughout KKR's investment process, including the management of KKR’s ESG-focused value creation programs for its portfolio companies. She is also a member of KKR’s Global Impact team. Ms. Seeger was previously a project manager in the corporate partnerships program of Environmental Defense Fund (EDF). Prior to EDF, she was a consultant with the Corporate Executive Board (CEB). She is a 2013 Aspen Institute First Movers Fellow and became a member of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board in 2017. Ms. Seeger earned a B.A. with honors from the University of Chicago and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Avantika is a Vice President in the Sustainable Investments Division and works with Wafra’s investment teams to provide ESG guidance to the wide range of investments. She also represents Wafra at conferences and to clients presenting Wafra’s ESG integration strategies and findings. Previously, Avantika was the head of institutional ESG product at Northern Trust Asset Management, overseeing $70 billion in ESG assets. She was responsible for ESG innovation, product development and thought leadership and helped in the creation of over thirteen institutional ESG products. She has received formal training from the US Sustainable Investment Forum and currently serves on the assurance working group at the United Nations Principals of Responsible Investing (PRI), of which Wafra is a member, where she is advising the UN on the standards of assurance the PRI must mandate on signatories. The final findings were published in a UNPRI paper, “Introducing Confidence Building Measures to PRI signatories”. She earned her B.A. in Economics from Claremont McKenna College.
